New York\u2019s nightlife scene has always embraced a good revival, but few venues carry the legendary reputation of Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the late 2000s and throughout the 2010s, the Chelsea hotspot became one of Manhattan\u2019s most sought-after nightlife destinations. Models, athletes, artists, celebrities and downtown partygoers regularly packed into the club\u2019s dark, energetic atmosphere long after midnight. For many, a true night out in Manhattan often ended at Avenue\u2014if they could make it past the famously selective door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, the iconic venue is making its official return, leaving behind its former West Chelsea location for a dramatic new home atop 30 Hudson Yards. Tao Group Hospitality has confirmed that Avenue will relaunch this month as Avenue Sky Lounge, a luxury cocktail and private events venue perched 1,100 feet above Manhattan inside the Edge complex at Hudson Yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt the heart of this transformation is the return of Avenue,\u201d said Tao Group Hospitality co-CEO Noah Tepperberg in a statement. \u201cBringing Avenue back to New York is deeply personal for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This reinvented version of Avenue is expected to deliver a more refined and upscale experience compared to its original nightclub era. Tao Group says the redesigned venue draws inspiration from classic Manhattan Art Deco style, featuring rich lacquered wood finishes, velvet accents, geometric patterns and interiors influenced by the city skyline. A large central bar and adaptable floor plan will allow the venue to shift seamlessly between cocktail lounge, nightlife destination and private event space throughout the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The drink menu will also pay tribute to New York City itself. Signature cocktails are inspired by neighborhoods and boroughs across the city, including an Upper East Side-themed mix of gin, cucumber, mint and Champagne, alongside a spicy tequila-based \u201cHell\u2019s Kitchen\u201d creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reopening is part of a larger transformation underway at Hudson Yards\u2019 nightlife and dining spaces. Tao Group is also refreshing Peak, the elevated restaurant that first opened at Hudson Yards in 2020, with redesigned interiors and updated menus. Meanwhile, the company is reviving Marquee Skydeck, its rooftop summer party series, with performances scheduled from DJs including Benny Benassi, Gareth Emery and Diplo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hudson Yards now appears to be fully embracing its role as Manhattan\u2019s vertical nightlife hub\u2014where a night \u201cuptown\u201d could soon mean heading more than 100 stories into the sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
